bourgeois from Valangin as early as 1508 and from Neuchatel as early as 1659.

It spread to La Brévine, Dombresson, Basel and the canton of Vaud.

Jean-Jacques Sandoz, son of David, first mayor of La Chaux-des-Taillères (Brévine),

was ennobled in 1657 by Henry II of Longueville.
